Defend the Dream Action

The local MoveOn.org group is organizing an action in response to developments in Wisconsin.  From the local Move On chair, Dianne Eckstein:

Please spread the word and please attend the rally on Tuesday, March 15 on the corners of Highway 101 and 20th (by Fred Meyer) at 4:30 or 5pm ( we have two times out in the media so some of us will be on the corner early)  which MoveOn organizations around the country are putting on to support Wisconsin, workers, unions, teachers, Head Start, jobs, benefits, etc. The Congress votes again on March 18 and we need to send a strong message. If you can go to the MoveOn page and search for the event in the 97365 area and register.

Richard Wolff: Why the Economic Crisis Deepens

This is an excellent review of, and wide-ranging discussion about, our current economic situation. It covers its origin, evolution, current status and a sober prognosis for the near and distant future.  Well, its the best I've seen since...., well, forever.

Its clear, comprehensive, enlightening (he even talks about Oregon, if you can imagine!), insightful and frank.  He covers an incredibly complex field of information about history, culture, psychology, ethics, and economics easily and lucidly.  It really needs to be seen by more people.  The not so rhetorical questions he asks need to be more widely known.  Its long (2 hours), but it goes by painlessly.
